Re: FRSC: Interview with Ron Anicich of Bad Cop, No Donut!

"I intervened, brandished a blade, warned the guy to knock it off (which he did), and a bystander called cops who eventually showed up and took him away for assault. I didn't have to take even one swing, and the girl did not receive any more blows."

So a single incident of yours, is enough evidence to prove that merely the threat of force will be sufficient in every situation a police officer encounters?

The problem with your solution is that the police already utilize the threat of violence in an attempt to dissuade suspects from resisting. So what worked for you, and your single incident may not work in every situation police encounter on a daily basis.

"Seven cops (2 cars, 5 motorcycles) were in front of Starbucks this afternoon on Pacific. A street punk sat across the street, looking dirty but minding his own business. Admist casual conversation, I overheard one cop say to another "Give ya $10 to taser that punk over there."

In casual conversation, in public. Out loud. This afternoon."

Was the cop being serious? I make off color jokes all the time, and I don't mean them.

***To the other individual***

"Why do they want a disarmed public? "

Who are you referring to, because if you actually knew any cops, you'd know that most are ardent second amendment right supporters.

"Whether or not you succeed in murdering me, as federal agents murdered Vicki Weaver and her young son in Idaho; or as those same federal agents murdered 81 men, women and children at Waco, Texas; there will be others who will rise up in my memory, as I now rise up in honor of the innocent lives taken by the jack-booted thugs and black-clad imitation ninjas who think it is fun to murder Americans who have somehow become convinced that it is their job to murder Americans!"

Federal law enforcement is a whole 'nother world from local law enforcement - your local police and sheriff's department is locally controlled, by locally elected individuals.

"Today, these documents are considered dangerous by the government, just as King George found them dangerous over 200 years ago."

Which documents have been, can you identify a systematic abuse by police officers of your rights, or can you merely point out a few unrelated incidents?

"According to the Sheriff's report, several deputies were positioned outside the Cooper residence to serve a warrant for Aggravated Assault and two counts of endangerment. Cooper had stated numerous times in the past that he would not surrender to law enforcement via his website and shortwave radio."

Well, oops. Can't say I feel sorry for the idiot, we have a justice system in this country for a reason - if you're charged with a crime, you can't just choose not to obey the legal system.

Your rant is heavy on vitriol, and short on fact. You can make all the allusions to fascism you want, but that really doesn't do a whole lot for me without some facts.

Here's an excerpt from your link:

"EAGER, AZ - William Cooper has been killed and an Apache County
sheriff's deputy wounded in a shootout, authorities said.

William Milton Cooper, 58, of Eager, had hosted a talk show
broadcast on the Worldwide Christian Radio out of Nashville,
which receives it via phone from his home in St. Johns.

The deputy, whose name was being withheld by authorities, was
shot twice in the head while trying to arrest Cooper, a state
Department of Public Safety spokesman said today. Cooper was
killed by another officer.

Several deputies were attempting to arrest Cooper, who was armed
with a handgun, said Officer Steve Volden, a spokesman for the
DPS, which was investigating the shooting."
