Re: FRSC: Interview with Ron Anicich of Bad Cop, No Donut!

You seem to be missing the point here Huh.
This show (Bad Cop, No Donut) deals with corrupt officers. I've stated numerous times that I don't really have a problem, and I think this is true of most folks, with HONEST, TOLERANT, and DECENT officers who uphold the integrity of their post. My beef, and its very legitimate since I've been a victim numerous times of DWB, selective enforcement and outright harassment, is with the LIARS, RAPISTS, and RACIST VIOLENT THUGS who somehow found their way into the police system, thus further perpetuating the myth that all cops are bad. Not all cops are bad, but there definately are way too many who get away with this shit. The culture of protecting ones own is also a big part of this problem. If my co-worker is stealing, cheating, lying, or otherwise abusing the public trust I would try to do something about it. This is not the case in police departments. Just ask any officer what would happen to him/her if they testified against another officer, even an obviously guilty one. Most likely the response wouldn't be favorable, and this is exactly the problem. Too much looking out for "their own" istead of looking out for the public trust.

This is the purpose of BCND, to bring awareness to the abuses that happen everyday worldwide. The host, Ron Andich, only takes stories from local mainstream media sources that usually don't recieve much attention outside of their local area. Individually, these are not huge events, but when taken in the context of a state or country the extent of police abuse and corruption becomes quite clear.

Finally, you never responded as to whether or not you actually listened to the show. I'm just curious because, as a journalist, I feel that not only is it a well produced show, but that its content is amazingly well researched and presented. Its hard work doing a daily or weekly show and Ron has done this very well.
