Who is UCPD officer D. Roby?

We've seen UCPD officer D. Roby at least twice in the last four days at protests at both UCSC and UCB (he might have been at the AIDE mobilization in Berkeley on Wednesday. If you can confirm this please do).
The purpose of this is to discuss the (ultra-violent?) career of this officer who committed brutality against nonviolent students in Santa Cruz.
He beat students up in Santa Cruz Monday night, and was protecting the career fair from the counter recruiters at UCB on 4/21.
There were a couple of comments about him floating on santa cruz IMC and Indybay.
Maybe someone can comment on this officer's history? Copwatch folks, maybe?
This link shows that D. Roby was also at the counter-recruitment demonstration at UCB on 4/21.
