I'm not crying for Tookie. He was a murderer, an unrepentent one, and a racist. He killed Albert Owen because he was white. He killed three Asians and called them Buddha heads. I'm not a big supporter of the death penalty, but if we want to model of redemption, tookie ain't it. Tookie, in some ways, was the victim of the Black Power movement that sees all black people as victims, that puts people like George Jackson on a hero's pedastle and justifies there actions against the "racist white state". Well, what if Tookie was a white man who had killed a black store clerk because he hated blacks. Would there be all this comotion among the anti-death penalty activitists? Probably not. Would Jesse Jackson be on TV making statements. Not likely.
