Re: Were you damaged by Schering Plough\'s interferon treatment?

Well, things are finally coming together for this class action suit! From what I understand, we now have many people signed up.

I, personally, now receive about 40-60 emails and 3-6 phone calls EVERY DAY from people out there who have been injured by PEG-Intron/Rebatron. This treatment affects different people in different ways. I have talked to people who have gone blind or deaf, have muscle/bone/nerve conditions, diabietis, thyroid problems, on and on.

Thank you for all your help. Please continue to refer people to either Patrick Catalano at 619-233-3565 or AGianni7@AOL.com or 707-537-7871.

Now let the Saudi women vote, drive, and get id cards

This is a very interesting article submitted by Tish: While I am heartened to learn that Saudi women's job opportunities will be expanded to other profession besides teaching and nursing, I note that Saudi women were only issued civil identity cards in 2001 and then ONLY if a male relative allows it. Saudi Arabia remains a country where women are virtual slaves. They are cloistered (no freedom of movement), not allowed to drive a car (in a country with more oil than any other in the world and vast distances to cover between one place and another). Women do not vote.

They have no access to birth control or abortion. There are no gay rights either.

It is also ominous to see that the Saudi government is only resorting to employing women to add to the financial resources of the average family.

So now women are not only responsible for ALL of the UNPAID work of the shopping, cleaning, and childcare, they must also join their western sisters in having the added burden of being financially responsible for the families as well.

What a leap forward for womankind!

But before you spend another minute concerned about the lack of rights for women in Saudi Arabia, may I remind you that your true purpose is to bash Israel --- a country where women founded the country alongside men, had one of the first female world leaders, where women voted from the start, serve in the military, have equal rights, access to abortion and birth control, can be openly lesbians.

Saudi Arabian women can wait. The left has more important work to do on the human rights front.

Re: Iraq was invaded \'to protect Israel\' - US official

I seriously doubt George W. Bush attacked Iraq to benefit Israel ---only as a small side issue. But it is true that Iraq did threaten Israel's security. Saddam Hussein had been sending $25,000 checks to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers which were awarded at very public ceremonies by members of Arafat's PA. These checks had Saddam Hussein's picture on them in one corner and a Palestinian flag in the other corner. Iraq sent 21 SCUD missiles into Israel in the 1991 Gulf war. Iraq has technically been at war with Israel since it declared its independance in 1948 and was one of the Arab nations which attacked Israel in 1948 and again in 1967. It is true that Iraq posed a greater threat to Israel than it ever did to the USA.
But I believe Bush took us to war against Iraq to get the guy who tried to kill his dad, for oil, and to scare the bejeezuz out of the Arabs. Protecting Israel was way down on the list.

Iraq was invaded \'to protect Israel\' - US official

What you believe is of no importance. What other people know has importance. You seriously need to take about 6 years of Middle East studies classes. Also, writing classes would help you. Think and research before you write. Your comments are embarrassing.

Re: cheney\'s foul mouth

Leahy is calling for an investigation of Haliburton.

another despicable response also reported by CNN:

"This is a politicizing of Halliburton, which is a shame," said Mary Matalin, a former Cheney aide now working as a senior Bush-Cheney campaign adviser.

"Halliburton itself has lost close to three dozen workers over there in Iraq," Matalin told NBC's Today show. "I mean, just let it go."
