Re: MICROWAVING IRAQ

I just love the way that these articles have no indentifiable, authenticated sources.

Come on, kids, let's all put on our tinfoil hats to protect us from the [insert bogey of choice].

Israeli commission finds little deterrent value in home demolition policy

An Israeli commission studied the effectiveness of its policy of demolishing the family homes of suicide bombers as a deterrent. They could only find 20 cases where a bombing attack was diverted. Following consideration of the study, the Israeli govt. announced it was ending the policy. Israel will still bulldoze homes built illegally and/or on property not owned by the builder. Also buildings which are used for sniper locations, may also be bulldozed.

Re: Israel: Demolition of Palestinian Homes is Actually Feeding Violence Rather Than Deterring It

Bulldozing homes causes homelessness. How would we feel if homes were bulldozed in Santa Cruz?

Sorry, you just don't know the facts

Utopia: We fortunately don't have to deal with the dilemna of suicide bombings in the US, so we don't know what our government would do if it were faced with the same dilemna.

In Santa Cruz County, if you build a house on land that you do not have title to, and build without permits, your house is gonna get bulldozed!!!

Israel is way way behind in removing buildings built illegally, since few Palestinians are willing to "cooperate with the Zionist entity."

Likewise, Israel has to contend with homes being used to house terrorists, bomb-factories, and snipers. Many times homes like this are bulldozed (and indeed, the LAPD bulldozes houses for similar reasons).

Somehow you think Israel should have a different standard than eveyone else. Where is your moral condemnation of the suicide bombings that triggered this policy in the first place?

Re: Government Obstructs Boulder Creek Art Festival

We must respect all art for it is all the expression of a soul yearning to BE in the OUTER SELF. SOLIDARITY WITH ALL SISTER AND BROTHER ARTISTS! All artists are spiritual warriors for the courage it takes to put a piece of one's soul up for criticism. Since the prehistoric days art has been the original expression of speech but since the post-Goddess era men of power have repressed art. Do they harrass art festivals in wealthy patriarchial christian towns? No but here where people will see THE GODDESS in her many bueaitufil FORMS we are being silenced once again?
I say it again: SOLIDARITY WITH ALL ARTISTS!! I will be at the festival to show my support!!

Re: Government Obstructs Boulder Creek Art Festival

The government isn't 'obstructing' the festival- they're keeping you from selling alchohol on a main highway. No need to be melodramatic, or get into a flamewar over the definition of good art.
