ACTIVISTS NEEDED!
In the 4th of July Aptos Parade--
Art & Revolution and Media Watch activists will be performing a simple yet powerful street theater piece (focused on the environment, consumption of resources, exploitation of labor).
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Imagine a VERY LARGE new American truck with a happy, patriotic family at the helm. Little do they realize that, as the truck rolls slowly by, that it's in fact not running, but being pushed by worker/slaves. Adults and children, dressed in grimy, tattered clothing are toiling, pushing the behemoth forwards towards a false paradise. They are being forced into their labor and war by businessmen and CEO's wielding whips and prods, Uncle Sam and recruiters-- they sell the philosophy of consumerism and capitalism to the parade observers.

Would you like to join us?
Are you willing to put your shoulder to the wheel?

Do you have some old clothes you can get muddy, grimy, cut and tear? Or... do you have a business suit? Rhinestones?? Military camouflage--soldiers are dying in the Oil War

This is a chance for you to re-make and re-define the hollow flag-waving nationalism of this country with some prime provocative political prodding and play.

Let us know in advance if you're interested in participating.

We need worker/slaves with tattered clothes, cause this monster is BIG! Children welcome. worker/slaves please get your clothes grimy and tattered as much as possible in advance.

WHEN & WHERE: Meet us near the Wells Fargo and Public Library in Aptos at approx. 9 AM. Look for a very large silver extended-cab pickup truck (and people in rags). Parade begins at 10 AM ends around 11:30 AM. Give your self time to find parking (this parade is big with many entries. We will be in the streets up and behind the bank and library. If you'd like to car pool with us from the3 west side and/or downtown Santa Cruz do call us!

See you in Aptos on the 4th
