Three Southern California Advocates Attack Psychiatric Abuse Thursday on FRSC

On Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 6:15 PM, Free Radio Santa Cruz's Bathrobespierre's Broadsides show will feature anti-psychiatry activists Jeff Lustman, Mona Montgomery, and Ned Parker.
Lustman is a part-time attorney who has done pro bono advocacy in the mental health system, and is representing someone who was locked up improperly in a psych facility. He also works with

Montgomery is a Glendale (suburb of Los Angeles) attorney who specializes in conservatorship and mental health law.

Parker is a member of Citizen's Commission on Human Rights (, and has seen a lot of improprieties in the mental health

Lustman notes they have a lawsuit going against a doctor and the hospital that falsely imprisoned a "patient". Lustman also notes, "Judges have protected the County
for serious civil liberties investigations, hence L.A. County is now out of the lawsuit."

Recently Chris Brozda, a homeless activist, was arrested by police as he distributed his business card and announced his platform in the race for County Supervisor and federal Representative downtown on Pacific Avenue. He was forcibly medicated in jail and faces charges of "disturbing the peace".
