Featuring Michelle Tea

THIS TIME FOR REAL! Michelle Tea has re-booked for the 23rd... be there!!!!
On Friday, September 23, novelist, poet, feminist, the famed Michelle Tea will be making a return to Santa Cruz at 7:00 p.m at the Wired Wash Café. She will read from her latest collection of poetry, The Beautiful and other prose. The Beautiful is Tea's book of poems, written between 1994 and 1997, published by Manic D Press (San Francisco). The book captures the peak of her journey into poetry as she reveals, "That's when I started writing poems in San Francisco… one or two poems a day… it was crazy!"

MICHELLE TEA is the author of four memoirs including the Lambda Award-Winning Valenica for Best Lesbian Fiction and the recent Rent Girl. She has edited two poetry anthologies: Pills, Thrills, Chills and Heartache (with Clint Catalyst) and Without A Net: The Female Experience of Growing Up Working Class. Tea curates performance events nationwide, most notably the notorious all-girl road show Sister Spit and the Radar Reading series at the San Francisco Public Library.
