Preparing for a Healthy Trip Abroad: Inoculations and Vaccinations

If you are planning on traveling, the issue of inoculations can be quite daunting. Depending on what countries you are traveling to, and from, the inoculation requirements vary greatly. It is often recommended that one contact your own doctor to find out what is recommended for your trip. But even then, doctors cannot be expected to know the inoculation requirements for all countries. So it really is best to do some preliminary research on the area you are traveling to and from, yourself. And then to bring that information with you to your doctor's office, to help give the doctor a sense of what you are needing and looking for. It is recommended you go to the doctor's office with this information 4-6 weeks prior to leaving, so you have time to get the proper shots.

The Real Cost of Prisons Project is "dedicated to reducing over-reliance on incarceration." They offer workshops on the topics of the War on Drugs, Incarcerated Women and Children, and the Financing and Siting of Prisons. They create and distribute educational materials about the "costs of incarceration on the individual, his/her family, community and nation." Their website says, "The goals of the Real Cost of Prisons Project are to strengthen and deepen the organizing capacity of grassroots prison/justice activists and to broaden the public's understanding of the economic and social consequences of mass incarceration."

Last week was the bloodiest week in the last two months, as 24
Palestinians, mostly civilians, including 6 children, were killed and
dozens of other civilians were injured by Israeli troops.

The difference between the suicide bomber and soldier(s) killing
civilian population including children, is the IDF uniform and the US

Pedestrian Hit by Car on Mission St. - Driver Flees On Foot

This afternoon I heard that a carload of students (UCSC? High school? apparently driving too fast) hit a pedestrian who went through the windshield and had to be airlifted to Stanford. I do not know any more about their condition.
