Students and Workers Visit Rotkin to Demand an End to the Bus Strike

A crowd of rideless UCSC students and workers along with striking MetroBus drivers and reporters descended upon Mike Rotkins’ office Monday to ask that he give them rides home.

They demanded that he take steps to end the bus strike. Rotkin explained that the situation was 'complicated' and we had to be 'practical.' For the first time, Rotkin stated publicly that he had voted to accept the 6 month state-mediated agreement that would have averted a strike. Making this mission a success.

Biological Warfare Used Against War Protestors?

I was in DC over the Sept. 24th weekend. I distinctly remember all the helicopters flying overhead, especially the day after the march, when only the hardcore demonstrators were left. Notes from the September 30th Midnight Mystery Ride

sanlorenzo_9-30-05.jpgI was not planning on participating in the Midnight Mystery Ride which took place on September 30. I got on my bicycle to get some fresh air and saw lots of friends gathered outside the Poet and Patriot Pub. They were gathering in preparation for the Midnight Mystery Ride. When I told my friends that I was actually just out of my home to get some fresh air, they suggested that I go on the ride as long as i was up. So, I rode home and got my camera.
