The Committee to Raise the Minimum Wage wants to make it mandatory that all businesses in the city pay $9.25 an hour, which is $2.50 more than the statewide minimum wage. The group must collect 3,388 signatures — 10 percent of the registered voters in Santa Cruz — to get the question on the ballot.
