Why "Palestine" is a euphemism for "get rid of the Jews"

Since many of those commenting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict use the terms "Palestine" and "Palestinian people" and even "Israel-occupied Palestinian territories" I think it is high time to educate readers on the background of this term. The information in this article will undoubtedly surprise some readers who have this view that in 1948 Zionist colonists invaded "Palestine" and displaced the indigenous people there. This article effectively debunks that idea. For instance, Nablus, a major Palestinian city, was actually named by the Romans as "Naples" but the Arabs couldn't pronounce that name--hence Nablus. Hebron was a Jewish City until an Arab massacre in 1929. Please look at the comments that will undoubtedly come (unless this info is completely ignored) and see if they refute any of the facts presented or instead go on about what a racist I am. I welcome intelligent refutations.

Police Raid NYC Indymedia Video Team Benefit

miami_model.jpgA multi-agency task force shut down a NYC Indymedia video team benefit late Saturday night, sparking complaints that the action was politically motivated. "I don't think every single department showing up here was a coincidence," said Brandon Jourdan, a video team organizer. "But maybe it was or maybe it was not. People will have to decide for themselves."

Jourdan, who was dressed in black pajamas with a white skeleton running down his torso, said that the first undercover cop showed up at 5 p.m. three hours before the benefit began and that the space was swarming with police as well as members of the Department of Buildings and the Department of Health.

"They came in the middle of the party with flashlights and started pointing at holes in the ceiling and a ramp that they said shouldn't be there," said NYC IMC member Ana Nogueira. "...They could have come and inspected this at any time of day. They could've checked it months ago."

Life and lies under the terrordome

"What we're talking about here is a very serious matter based upon sound intelligence. We are a nation in danger."

George W. Bush, August 2

The official American political season has opened in a war frenzy.

First, the Democrat's team "reported for duty" in Boston--wrapped in flags, surrounded by vets and generals--and promising to build up more military strength and launch aggressive new actions.

Then, the Republican government roared back with their own bid to orchestrate fear and war fever: Quickly after the Democratic convention closed, on August 1, the current administration announced a major terror alert--complete with claims of immediate threat, new "intelligence streams," capture of key plotters, supposed targeting of the New York Stock Exchange and the Citicorp Center in Manhattan, the Prudential Financial building in Newark, and the World Bank and International Monetary Fund buildings in Washington, DC.
