World Court Perpetuates Palestinian self-pitty

In choosing to judge Israel rather than the Palestinian leadership, the International Court legitimizes Palestinian self-pity and sabotages the possibility of change. That is a disaster for the moral health of Palestinian society, and for the possibility of reconciliation in the Middle East.

ISM Jew Denied Entry Into Israel to vandalize fence

"The ISM members often place themselves in between Palestinians and Israeli forces to prevent the army from carrying out operations."

This means they intentionally interfere with the security of the State of Israel. I have heard of demonstations with wire-cutters and vandalism the ISM was involved with. Rachel Corrie got killed playing chicken with an Israeli bulldozer.

From what I've heard, the main problem Israel has with the ISM is their members sign documents promising not to go to the West Bank and Gaza and then they go there.

I don't find this story horrendous, any kind of human rights violation, or even particularly newsworthy.

Re: Why Vote for Ralph Nader?

Is this a case of "you can have any color, as long as it's a shade of red?" Don't Bush, Kerry, and Nader all agree that it is OK to have a big government that controls massive resources? Don't these men differ only in their views on who gets to feed at the public trough, or who needs to be whacked with the public baseball bat? Don't they all have a plan for running your life? Or for influencing and controlling society so much that they might as well be running your life? Do candidates who agree so much on the basic nature of government present any worthwhile spectrum of choice to the voter?

Where are the candidates who believe the government must respect and serve individual citizens? Who stands up for the idea that people should be able to live as they please and keep what they earn? Why must we dance to the tune that is called by an elite, hundreds or thousands of miles away? Why must we have no effective way to prevent them from always taking more of our money and property to pay for their own upkeep and their harebrained schemes?

Where are the candidates who understand the dangers of large government and the direct relationships between smaller government, more personal freedom, and greater general prosperity?

Why won't we be seeing a REAL opposition candidate in the debates, to challenge Bush, Kerry AND Nader? Who will call BS on their collective bluff?

Why do people keep holding their noses and voting for evil, lesser or otherwise, when true alternatives exist?
