There lives around 500 000 people and the city is mostly in an island and a small area at the coast connected only by two bridges.

The demos are being organizade by some neighborhoods assossiations, students organizations and independents. They re demanding the imediatilly decrease of the bus prices. On the 30 of june the militar police, helped by a shock troop, destroyed violently a demo of 3 000 people with peper spray and tear gas. The OAB ( an assossiation of the brasilian lawers) gonna send a document to the justice demanding the annulation of this last increase prices. At 2 of july the mayor Angêla Amim admitted the possibility to decrease the prices, organizing a popular consultation. The prices got higher on the last Sunday 27 of june and became the highest bus prices in Brazil.

Since august last year Florianópolis has a new bus system wich were did by the companies and city hall counting mostlly the interesting of the profits against the interesting of people who needs daily this service.

Secretaria de Transportes e Obras

Here an example of message that you can send:

(The message orders that the city hall should listen and do the demanding of the demonstrators. Saying that the collective busses are a necessity for workers and students and they, the population should be the central point in the question of collective transports and not the profits of companies. Also says that the international community are paying attention on every civil and human rights violation like it happened here with police violence and people having their life threated to be part on the demo. )

Sing your name here / country.
