I wanted to start off by saying that I am from New York and have never visited Santa Cruz. However, I am seriously considering going to UCSC because of their music program.
I was disheartened when I found out tution for out of state students was nearly 30,000 per year. This is a state school?! Therefore I thought this town was just a high-class snobby beach resort town. I had no idea there was a large indy-artist scene in downtown. Anyway, keep fighting because if the yuppies take a complete takeover tution at UCSC will probably rise to 1,000,000 a year.
