Palomar microwave tower approval meeting rescheduled

The Santa Cruz City Council has rescheduled the meeting Re: granting a permit for the continued operation illegal microwave towers on the Palomar inn to Feb 22nd at 7pm
The Santa Cruz City Council has rescheduled the meeting Re: granting a permit for the continued operation of the ILLEGAL microwave towers (that have been operating illegally for FIVE YEARS ) on the Palomar inn to Feb 22nd at 7pm

This is because the legal requirement to notify permanent *residents* of the Palomar Inn (its not a Hotel!) was not posted in a prominant location.

Gee, Isn't it "strange" that after hundreds of flyers were handed out by environmental activists to notify the public about the Palomar Inn microwave towers, that the meeting was suddenly postponed a day before?

Why was posting the notice somehow "overlooked" by city officials who are familiar with the law?
D'oh!

Re: Palomar microwave tower approval meeting rescheduled

What is this legal requirement, exactly? What is the municipal code number for it? I honestly would like to know, to look up the details.

Did Free Radio Santa Cruz ever meet this requirement of posting in a prominant location in their neighborhood a notice of intent to transmit?

If not (and I imagine not), why do you not hold them to the same standard? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Why do activists fighting for obediance to law "overlook" an illegal transmitter operated by the counter-cultural elite?

Bob, is that you?

Bob LaMonica, is that you masquerading as Utopia Selective? The above comment has all the telltale characteristics.

Well, in any case, do you LISTEN to FRSC? Can't really complain about an illegal broadcast you enjoy so much, now can you?

BTW, the FCC does not regulate antenna placement on the basis of "health concerns." Aesthetics only. So, as long as FRSC's antenna meets city codes, i.e. under 40 feet from the roof, there is no antenna violation as far as I can tell, aside from operating w/o a license....

As far as "obedience to law" I for one, don't know of too many good laws. There's a few, but c'mon now, most of us on imc would rather organize a different kind of society. one w/o "obedience to law."

Hey, Utopia Selective (or Bob LaMonica??) --

If you are so concerned about FRSC, why don't YOU investigate it and write a story about it? Your comments regarding FRSC have absolutely nothing to do with the above story and are therefore irrelevant.
