One of this country's most prolific radical thinkers, Dr. Michael Parenti has authored fifteen books on such topics as history, democracy, fascism, US imperialism, communism, terrorism, globalization, racism, gender, and class politics. Among his published works are Democracy for the Few, Inventing Reality: The Politics of News Media, Against Empire, The Sword and the Dollar: Imperialism, Revolution, and the Arms Race and, his most recent book, is entitled The Terrorism Trap: September 11 and Beyond. Dr. Parenti has also written hundreds of articles that have been published in a wide array of newspapers, magazines and other periodicals. These include CovertAction Quarterly; The Monthly Review; Dollars and Sense, Prevailing Winds; The Humanist; New Political Science; Nature, Society and Thought; The Nation; and Z Magazine. His writings have been translated into over 12 languages and have been enjoyed by readers, academics, and social activists alike. Michael Parenti appears on radio and television talk shows to discuss current issues and ideas from his published works. Dr. Parenti's talks and commentaries are played on radio stations to audiences in the U.S., Canada and abroad. In recent years he has devoted himself full-time to writing and lecturing. Michael Parenti received his Ph.D. in political science from Yale University in 1962. He has also taught at a number of colleges and universities in the US and abroad.
