Vigil at Lockheed Martin
Early on the morning of Thursday, June 9, a small group of peace activists assembled in Bonny Doon, CA outside the main gate of Lockheed Martin, the world's largest weapons contractor. Located behind a wrought iron gate and barbed wire fences on 4,400 acres of pristine woodlands in rural Santa Cruz County, sits the sprawling complex of wherehouses, and labortories, which are used to test components and subsystems of the US Navy's Trident II missile. Vinny Lombardo reports.

Re: Vigil at Lockheed Martin
That is wrong! If there are any honest cops left out there (go ahead, slam me), it is time for them to stand up and speak out against b.s. like this. Don't they take some oath about serving the public good??
To the cops reading this: You are not a robot. God gave you a brain for a reason.
Re: Vigil at Lockheed Martin
Anyhoo... The Sherrif's deputies on hand were stoked. They fought each at the office to be first at the overtime sign-up sheet for this one.

Vigil at Lockheed Martin, Bonny Doon
every second Thursday of the month.
When: 6:30 A.M. at the gates of Lockheed Martin. Carpool from downtown Santa Cruz at the Old Sash Mill (303 Potrero St.) 5:45 A.M. sharp. Carpools return to Santa Cruz around 8 A.M.
Why: Since March 2003, we have been asking Lockheed Martin to tell us what is being producd and/or tested now in Bonny Doon. We also want to know the environmental effects of its past and present projects there. Our nonviolent vigils are intended to let Lockheed Martin know that we don't feel safe as neighbors given the weapons it makes and the corporation's record of environmental violations. We are not going away. We want our questions answered.
Bring: a flashlight in the winter months. Bring a sign that expresses your feeling about the work that Lockheed Martin does and that might resonate with the folks who are employed there.

Corporations pay taxes too, and whether or not you agree with it, under U.S laws corporations enjoy the same rights and privildges afforded to private citizens...
