This Wednesday's Pedal->Potluck-> Picnic takes off after you've had time to stash your Farmer's Market Goodies. We'll meet up behind Logos Books / Farmers Market at 7pm. We ride 3-5 miles to the secret mystery destination known only to the ride leader. We'll enjoy a potluck picnic dinner, so please bring food and drink to share. If you don't have time to prepare something before the ride, fear not. The starting point is close to several markets and take-out places. Contact: mmr (at) riseup.net

If you're interested in the last ride, here's the haps:

Ride Report July 8: Midnight Mystery Ride #2:

The MMR started at the rollicking guerilla drive-in and then slammed by the Poet and Patriot to pick up another 35 riders. Our cacaphony of bike bells woke up Pacific Avenue Clubbers who shouted their raging desire to be riding along. We picked up one skate boarder and nearly towed him through the whole ride. We spun around the parking garage "climbing track" for a few rounds, howled for the moon to come out and then panted up Ceder toward the sea.

Then we surfed the ocean air out to the end of the wharf for a pit stop. Coasting along the main beach, we ran into a black and white parked in the bike lane. The officers looked at us, shrugged and continued patrolling the beach. Give thanks for professional indifference. (Just like last ride).

To help every one catch up, we all rode countless figure 8's in the boardwalk parking lot, the very lot where Olympic Figure Skater Oksana Baiul once performed the same tricks on temporary ice. Then we flew like night herons along the river levee, crossed the double corkscrew bridge at the Tall White Church (Holy Cross Mission) and decended into the Harvey West Industrial Area. We cut more figure 8's into the asphalt at Costco, and finally headed into nature for a late nite easter-egg hunt and speed story telling contest to win valuable prized (MMR Tee-shirts).

Finally, we chose up groups who were riding together to different parts of town, and then we all left, except for the couple who decided to stay and practice their advanced salsa dance moves in the moonlight.

Next Midnight Mystery ride on Friday, 7/ 24 after the Guerilla drive in movie "The Take". Leave from Poet and Patriot 12 midnight.

Other fun rides and activities:
Every Tuesday Night: Guerilla Bike Trail Building along the Train Tracks. The county has been stalling for years on buying the rights to build a cross-county bike trail. We're encouraging the plan by building a sweet section of trail along Seabright. To find us: ride out near the Rock Climbing Gym (Seabright & RR tracks) at 5pm on Tuesdays and join the Guerilla Wheel Barrel Race to lay the phlattest trail in SC.

Re: Midnight Mystery Ride

I think the date for the next Midnight Mystery Ride
would be Friday the 22 NOT the 24.
