One telling example of how the 8000 masked "world police" will get the action that they came for is buried in a story the AP delivered through Channel 9 TV in Albany, New York:

One restaurant that had plastered its windows with anti-Bush posters was left untouched, while a store across the street had its window shattered.

The BBC report of the Argentina protest states that the protests began peacefully, which thousands of marchers chanting "out with Bush". Later, small groups came in from the fringes with baseball bats. Some of them burned American flags, others started fires and began looting.

The appearance of George Bush at this Summit has provoked protests throughout South America: the channel 9 report mentions protests in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.

It is vital for all of those detained that the press take notice of them because in these past few years there have been scores of cases of misconduct, abuse and torture at the hands of the police in Argentina.

It is important to remember that the return of the Peronists is the return of a Government held up by official policies of torture, and their so-called "federal police" are graduates of the School of the Americas - now called WHISC. Unless a cry goes out, these writers could well join the numbers of the tortured ones, or the disappeared.
