PROOF THAT THE ARTICLE IS BULLSHIT The New York Daily News published an article yesterday reporting that "Before he was captured last spring, Osama Bin Laden's top operational commander was solely focused on killing President Bush and Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharaff" (see article to the left). According to the article, "Two years before Al-Libi's capture by Pakistani and CIA operatives in Pakistan's mountainous North-West Frontier province, near where many believe Bin Laden is hiding, American officials were informed by Musharraf envoys that the top Al Qaeda thug was bent on assassinating Bush." This means that for more than two years, Al-Libi, top operational commander of al-Qaeda, spent all of his time plotting the assassination of Bush and Musharraf. The article tells us that "there is little evidence the U.S. mission advanced beyond initial planning by Al-Libi in Pakistan". And this is the proof that the article is bogus. If al-Qaeda's "top operational commander" worked for more than two years exclusively on assassinating dictator Gorge Bush, why did the planning for this mission never advance beyond the planning stage? Given that assassinating the world's most idiotic leader was his top priority, we must assume that for more than two years, all of his other priorities were given less attention. As he was al-Qaeda's top operational leader, we must assume that all of these other lower priority plans never advanced beyond the "pre-planning" phase. In other words, al-Qaeda did not engage in any planning of terrorist acts for more than three years (two years plus the time since arresting Al-Libi) because al-Qaeda was too busily engaged in the non-terrorist activity (non terrorist because Bush is not a civilian) of plotting Bush's assassination. Using logic, it stands to reason that al-Qaeda, according to the article, ceased being a terrorist organization more than three years ago (2002) and, hence, there is no war on terror, just a war on an organization bent on assassinating a moron. In order to fight the war, thousands of Americans have died to save, get this, a moron's ass! If The New York Daily News had published their article on April Fool's Day, I would have found it appropriate, but to have published it during the holiday season is totally inappropriate. Better luck next time New York Daily News! |
