SUNDAY Oct 13:

CUE Parade through downtown! Meet at 2:45pm at the Kinko's parking lot. The parade will step off at 3pm. The theme is a funeral march in honor of the "Death of Fair Labor Practices" -- People will have their faces painted
white with black Xs over their eyes and they will be wearing red CUE shirts. This should be a lot of fun and students are more than invited to be a part of it!

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for all of your dedication and hard work. In less than a week, we have collected over 1,500 "Student Strike Pledges" -- that's more than 10% of the student population! As we head into these last few days before the strike, any help that you can offer to CUE & AFT will be super helpful and really critical in making the strikes successful!

Here's what you can do:

FRIDAY Oct 11:
=Flyer!!! Stop by the SLS table (at the Quarry Plaza 10am-4pm) and pick up a handful of flyers & a staple gun and go flyering! CUE & AFT really need help with this, so if you can please come by and just flyer for a little it would be really great!
=Wear RED to show your support!

SATURDAY Oct 12:
=CUE needs a few "office workers" to do a few hour shifts this day. I know this sounds boring, but it really won't be. Some possible jobs include building three big cardboard coffins (see below to find out why), making press packets, making buttons, helping return emails, outreaching to
community groups, making pickett boxes, etc, etc, etc. Even if you can just help for an hour, it would make a huge difference. Please call Regan at CUE 420-0258 or Max at SLS 469-3623 to get details on this stuff.

SUNDAY Oct 13:
=Sign/Banner/Button Making PARTY! 12noon to 4pm at SEIU Local415 Union Hall at 517 Mission Street (Locust is the cross street). This will be a joint event sponsored by SLS, CUE, & AFT! PLEASE spread the word about this event, so we can make it really productive and really FUN!

MONDAY Oct 14 & Tuesday Oct 15:
=CUE & AFT STRIKE! The Picket Line will be running at both campus entrances from 6am to 8pm with rallies from 12noon to 1:30pm both days! See you at the picket line, and bring a friend!

Thanks!

Remember, this will be the biggest STRIKE in UCSC history, and together we can make it the start of something really special.

Spread the word!

If you have any questions/comments/suggestions please email max: awkward (at) repla.com
or call 469-3623.
