March 5th was a big success on the UCSC campus! About 300 students rallied in the bookstore plaza from noon to 1:30.

There were a variety of speakers including professors, students, and even an activist from Brasil. In the down time a constant drum circle kept the energy high. Then at 3:30, about 50 students met on the east field to create a human peace sign.

Later, at 7:00pm students attended an event which included sections of the movie "Berkeley in the 60's" followed by discussions of what we can learn from history about the anti-war movement.

These events were held as part of an international student strike called for by the National Youth and Student Peace Coalition. www.nyspc.net/home.html
