Please join the queer and queer-friendly community of Santa Cruz county as we honor Queer Youth Leaders And Their Allies in these categories: THE QUEER YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD, THE ALLIES TO QUEER YOUTH AWARD, THE QUEER YOUTH ORGANIZATIONAL ALLIANCE AWARD

The mission of Queer Youth Leadership Awards is to improve the lives of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning youth by increasing the positive awareness of Queer Youth leadership, and increasing safe and welcoming environments in home, school, and community. Funding for this event comes from generous donations of goods, services and financial contributions from the community. In particular, The Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County has provided a financial grant in support of this years event. In addition, sponsors such as the Pajaro Valley Unified School District have come forward in support of the Awards.

The Queer Youth Leadership Awards event is Produced by the Santa Cruz County Task Force for LGBTQ Youth, a program of the Diversity Center, a community center serving the LGBT community of Santa Cruz county.

UCSC's Women's Studies Department is organizing a book celebration at the UCSC Women's Center for
This Bridge We Call Home, the much anticipated follow up to the seminal anthology This Bridge Called My Back.

The event will feature some of the book's authors, many of whom are also Bay Area/international activists and will include
UCSC's own visiting Women's Studies post-doc Nadine Naber.

Asstistant Professor of Women's Studies Radhika Mongia will be the discussant.
