Micro Ruckus Training Camp: Sacramento!
The Ruckus Society presents…
Sacramento BioJustice microRUCKUS
A 2 day training to learn creative, effective, safe ways
to take non violent direct action and resist the corporatization of food!

The Ruckus Society is hosting a 2 day training for people participating in the Sacramento BioJustice protests. On June 23-25th, 2003, the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA), and other state departments are hosting a summit in Sacramento for Ministers of Trade, Agriculture, and Environment from 180
nations. An "Expo On Agricultural Science and Technology" will run to showcase transnational agribusiness and biotechnology corporations and promote an industrialized, hunger inducing, agricultural model. These meetings are not open to the public. They are intended to build up to the WTO's September 2003 ministerial in Cancun, Mexico, in which agriculture is
the most contentious issue. A broad coalition of community organizations from Sacramento and Northern California are organizing a response to these events during the June 20-25 convergence...

Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1st, 2003
SACRAMENTO, CA Location and Times TBA

The training will prepare participants to utilize a variety of direct action tactics to create effective, safe, creative and fun actions for the Sacramento meetings. The training includes workshops on Non Violent Direct Action Preparation, Arts in Action, Media, political education on trade, biotech, food security issues, and others.
