Indymedia caucus at the Allied Media Conference

Below is info regarding [1] the Allied Media Conference and [2] an Indymedia
caucus at the Conference. Please read.
[1] the Allied Media Conference
The Allied Media Conference will be June 13-15 in Bowling Green, OH. If you
were there last year, you know that it just might be the biggest, most
enjoyable weekend of cross-media collaboration there is. It's a chance to
learn new skills, share your experiences, and build networks. The emphasis
is on making our own media, not reforming the mainstream system.

Indymedia will be well-represented there, as will the communities of
zinemakers, newspapers, videographers, microcinemas, radio, culturejammers,
cartoonists, hip hop, street artists, and radical cheerleading. Last year,
people from 36 states and Canada showed up.

For complete conference info and to pre-register ($10), visit or email amc (at)

[2] an Indymedia caucus at the Conference

Last year an Indymedia caucus meeting was held at the AMC. We plan to do
this again this year. If you plan on attending the AMC you should also plan
on attending the Indymedia caucus meeting.

This meeting will give each IMC that attends an opportunity to let everyone
know what they are up too. This'll be a good opportunity to share ideas,
discuss common problems, consult with newer IMCs, discuss ideas for
expanding our network and for improving inter-IMC collaboration, etc.

If you are planning on attending the AMC and would like to participate in
the Indymedia caucus meeting, please write to me (Mike from the michiganIMC)
at mmedow@umich. We will be holding the caucus meeting during lunch so we
are making arrangements to have food for you all. We need to know how many
people to get food for so RSVP by writing to mmedow (at)

Also, if there are specific items you would like to have discussed at our
meeting, send those to me as well so that we can include them in the agenda.

Mike Medow <mmedow (at)>
