Good for everyone who was there on Loreto's behalf and spoke out against this horribly out of whack CYA system that doesn't know what to do with the wards it already has. Bob Lee would be making a mistake by sending Loreto there and should consider that he does want to change and fade from gang life. Unfortunately, being thrust back into the CYA culture would assure that he would have to rely on gang back up just for survial's sake in the culture of violence that is rampant in CYA. He has a mother, a teacher and a community who support him and I believe would know how to help him better than the Criminal INjustice System. Hold DA Bob Lee to his word and demand with us that he not send Loreto to CYA!!

What does prison do to these kids? Rehabilitate them? Bullshit.
The system creates an environment where kids, especially those of marginalized groups, have a choice to either sink or swim.
Swimming is significantly more difficult when social services--which could be, and so often are, the saving grace for those who need it--are cut all over the place. (But hey, at least we have enough bombs.)
The government has lot of balls locking up people, YOUNG people, that they pretty much shit on from the beginning because they don't approve of the way they're swimming.
What do suited men behind desks know about surviving the way some of these kids do?

Just like all of the police and their corporate goons they want to abuse the children so that they'll make sure that they will grow up to abuse others. Othewise you wouldn't need social workers, psychiatrists, as many hospitals, as many police and other ones in between. It just feeds the system with $$$...oh, they'll say we "have" to put them in jail - then you have to pay the guards, etc. etc. The real reason they abuse kids is because then they'll grow up abusive and NOT look at changing the system. But rather they'll be looking at someone else to control and abuse!!! There you go. It keeps them "down" by them not wanting to further their education to become a professional person.
If we Taught them by Example and by books and Caring and Love and Atttention we would get somewhere. They Really need someone to connect with and talk to and hug. A role model is want they want and they are not getting it in this system that is mostly thinking about fashion and using styrofoam cups on airlines - a Stewardess wanted to give a woman 2 empty cups with her 2 beverages instead of filling up only her 1st cup with the 2 beverages. With could never afford that waste even though we had lots and lots of resources and now we CanNOT...
when I was a child I had a very peacefull LIFE. But I hate seeing whats happening to children and kids nowadays. They are trying to change what adults are doing to themselves and to their Earth!! We Need to Guide them in what is Right for them. My heart just Really goes out to them!!
So what do we do to kids that rape and kill?? IF they don't want to change their ways? I hate to look like I'm contradicting my above comments, but they have to be in a prison of some sorts. Maybe make one that is like a house and show them what Respect and Truth is all about and of course treat them humanely. That way they Learn whats Right...

This whole country is turning into a joke.Starting from the corrupted police officers out on the street to the justice system incarcerating innocent juveniles.Like the guards who assaulted the 2 wards after they were already restrained in cuffs.The guards should have been put into jail themselves after that.But what did the system try to do,charge the 2 wards of assault.That proved a lot to the world how fucked up the system is.I feel for loretos family I really do know what you guys are going through right now.God Bless toda su familia Senora Simona and FUCK THE SYSTEM!!!
