Jim Page has been busking on the streets of Seattle, WA for about three decades, Growing up in Palo Alto caJim first picked up a guitar at age 13. He sites the stylings of John Lee Hooker, Leadbelly, and Lightning Hopkins as musical inspirations, though does not consider himself a bluesman. In 1974, Jim led the successful effort to overturn Seattle's prohibitive street singing laws, which gained him some noteriety at the time. Often cited for his biting political pieces Jim's particular brand of music leaves a lasting impression on its listeners. Jim's music has appeared on a number of compilation records, and he has released more than a dozen full length albums, the most recent of which is called, Human Interesting, a Temporary Retrospective. He is in high demand by the social movements of the day, and now works full time playing gigs around the Northwestern US, as well as touring around N. America and Europe, and he joins me now live on RTB.
