Last week, TV news shows led with the grisly footage of four American Civlians who were killed and dismembered by an angry mob in Fallujah. At the time, US military leaders vowed revenge. Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt was quoted last saying that ``We will be back in Fallujah, It will be at the time and the place of our choosing. We will hunt down the criminals. We will kill them or we will capture them. And we will pacify Fallujah.'' This week, US forces used Apache gunships to attack targets in Baghdad for the first time since the fall of the Saddam Hussein regime. On Wednesday, Marines shot a hellfire rocket and dropped a 500-pound, laser-guided bomb on a mosque compound in Fallujah were more than 40 are believed killed. It apears that the situation in Iraq is quickly spiralling out of control. Pitched battles are spreading to at least a half dozen cities. Over the last few days US forces have suffered more than 30 casualties in heavy fighting there, while hundreds of Iraqis are said to have been killed, & many more wounded. Today we'll talk about Iraq's future with David Enders, a freelance journalist who helped launch the Baghdad Bulletin after the fall of Saddam. The Baghdad Bulletin is a non-partisan publication whose only tenet is that the presence of a free press offering a forum for all sides is an inalienable human right. David Enders has spent much of the last year in Iraq, and will be returning there in May.
