Demonstration for Worker Justice Nov. 10
On Wednesday, November 10th at 12 pm, representatives of AFSCME, the union that represents low-wage service workers at UC Santa Cruz will be bargaining for a fair contract in the Bay Tree Bookstore on the UCSC campus. Workers, students and community members will be demonstrating in the Quarry Plaza outside the bookstore in solidarity with the workers and their demand for a just contract.

It is interesting that most civilizations tend to go from markets where
most of the people trade wares with other people who produce wares, to an
economic expansion model where specializations begin to occur and third
parties begin to interact with services that raise the price of the trade
items, artificially inflating the entire community’s economic system.
