If the Palestinian Arabs are serious about forming a national identity as "Palestinians" separate from Jordanians, Syrians, Lebanese, and Egyptian, this is fine. It is their right to do so if they so choose.

But to claim that they have been a "Palestinian nation" for centuries is patently false. No Palestinian Arab fought for independence from Jordan on the West Bank from 1948 to 1967. It was only after Israel decisively conquered the West Bank and Gaza that any movement towards a national identity as "Palestinians" developed.

Cynics claim this was only a cultural propaganda tool to counter Israel's brilliant military victory.

And Steve---when have I EVER advocated for transfer, killing, or "getting rid" of the Palestinians? Look back at the hundreds of comments I have posted here and find one shred of evidence that I have ever supported that position.
