SO, BECKY, ARE YOU CLAIMING THAT JEWS ARE BEING *OPPRESSED* IN AMERICA?

Becky, I'm going to give you a little more personal time here, if I may. Perhaps you are a diehard Zionist -- who I typically just ignore, except to debate them in public for others' edification -- or perhaps you are just struggling with these issues within yourself, having been conditioned like most Americans to automatically side with whomever is white (or "whiter"/WASPer) in national/global issues. I will give you the benefit of the doubt on the latter (even though you were sloganeering just as Jewish conferee Gerald Gerash falsely claimed I was; but when a Jew/white does it, I guess that's okay, huh?). I'll do this while pleasantly listening to KPFA's "Con Sabor" salsa music program in the background this Saturday night.

Becky (Aug 27): "a SF Chronicle article reported that these have increased 4-fold since 9/11. But that same report listed the number of hate crimes against Jewish Americans to be 2 and a half times greater than those against Arab-Americans."

Oh yeah, the Chronicle is where I *always* go and rely for *all* my factual information about Israel, Zionism, or even Jews, let alone most other things political or the world. (It wasn't until the past year or two that the Chronicle would even accept so much as a letter to the editor critical of Israel/Zionism -- even written by a JEW!!) And, in a *post 9/11* environment it 'certainly' makes even intuitive 'sense' that hate crimes against Jews (generally *WHITES*) would be *way* up -- by **TEN** times -- while hate crimes against *ARABS, SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST ASIANS, ARABS, AND EVEN AFRICANS* (*PEOPLE OF COLOR*) would be up by 'only' four times, doesn't it? Yeah: *that* makes *perfect* sense. You know, all those JEWS getting knocks on their residential or employers' doors by FBI agents and always being strip searched at the nation's airports -- just for being JEWISH!!

In truth, let's try California Dept of Criminal-Justice figures which indicate that hate crimes for *ALL* ethnic/racial groups have been steadily going *DOWN*-- *EXCEPT* for *ARABS, SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST ASIANS, MUSLIMS, AND EVEN AFRICANS* -- WHICH, SINCE 9/11, HAVE BEEN GOING *UP* *SHARPLY*!!

But, as I've pointed out before, those California criminal-justice statistics must be wrong, because Laurie Zolith, former director of SFSU's Jewish Studies program said just a few years ago that *THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA* was on the verge of another Jewish *HOLOCAUST*!!! (You know, now that I think of it, I don't see nearly as many Jews in the Bay Area as I used to!)

And, apparently, "anti-Semitism" is even RAMPANT in the *NEO-PAGAN/GODDESS* community!! -- as there was an Oakland "anti-Semitism" conference session on -- get this!: "*ANTI-SEMITISM IN BAY AREA NEOPAGAN/GODDESS COMMUNITIES*"!!! You know all those anti-Semitic Neo-Pagan Goddesses running around oppressing Jews!! (What are the Goddesses doing?: putting hexes or curses or spells on the Jews?) And Becky claims that *I'M* not taking the deadly dire situation for Jewish-Americans seriously!!

Look, Becky, former Chrysler Chairman Lee Iococa said in his book that some white auto executives didn't like Italians and that he was denied top executive positions in the auto industry (other than the ones he got). Does this mean that Italian-Americans are oppressed in America!?

So, I would *NOT* dare say that anti-Semitism doesn't exist in America -- I *know* it does, I lived out in the Northeast -- I know about anti-Semitism in the South (where most of the Jews there largely only live in the big, protective cities) -- but anti-Semitism does *NOT* automatically equal *OPPRESSION*!

But, Becky, when was the last time you ever heard of any Jews being dragged to death behind some redneck's pick-up truck, or beaten to an inch of his life and left on a barbed wire fence to die? Or *commonly* physically attacked in America -- just for being Jews -- as are gay men and even lesbians!?

And have you noticed that pro-Palestinian human rights activists are scapegoated -- by JEWS -- for any occasional attacks (for so much as a small broken glass) -- by some white yokel -- against a Hillel or other Jewish institution building the way the anti-Semites commonly used to scapegoat JEWS for anything that went wrong in society?

As for Euro-American Jewish racism itself: a Jewish friend of mine told me that when Jews first opened up country clubs way back when WASP's wouldn't let Jews into WASP country clubs, those Jews denied admission to *Blacks*! -- until it became too embarrassing about 10-20 years later. (And how many Blacks could probably even financially *afford* admissions to any white country clubs? -- non-Jewish or Jewish.)

Furthermore, Jewish friends of mine were *always* telling me about an anti-Black racist Jewish parent or relatives.

Or, as the pre-eminent Black comedian Dick Gregory once said, "There ain't a Jew over the age of *15* that doesn't know another Jew who don't like Blacks!"

But, more seriously, Becky, you should read the African American writer James Baldwin's landmark essay on this issue, sardonically entitled "Blacks Are Anti-Semitic Because They're Anti-White". (Find it, perhaps, online or in any good book collection of his essays.) And, of course, many Jews -- especially the Jewish-American establishment -- called Baldwin anti-Semitic for writing what everyone knew was true! But, there were many leftist Jews who greatly admired Baldwin -- to this day.

But, just to emphasize what Jeffrey Blankfort said, general Jewish-American alliance with the African American struggle and the Civil Rights Movement was always greatly exagerated, often by some of the very same mainstream Jews that hated King. In fact, Blankfort said that the Jewish establishment *hated* Jewish civil rights workers like Goodman and Schwerner, who were murdered by the KKK, because Goodman and Schwerner were leftists! -- and only claimed them as noble representatives of the Jewish-American alliance with Blacks *after* they were killed and later found.

And the Jewish establishment is well-known for MUZZLING even the usually staid and mainstream NAACP (which was started back in the 1920's(?) with Jews) whenever they thought that the Black officials there were getting a little to independent -- which had a *JEWISH* president until the early 1960's!!

And as Zionist Jews like you, Becky, are commonly more and more pre-occupied with Israel -- as Israeli racism and apartheid keep coming more and more to the world's attention -- Zionist Jews keep moving more and more to the political *RIGHT* -- keep getting more and more *CONSERVATIVE* -- in their Faustian deal with American neo-conservative Christian fundamentalists TO THE DETRIMENT OF AFRICAN AMERICANS. Why Zionist Jews keep picking off our political leaders, as they did with Earl Hilliard and Cynthia McKinney (who will make a comeback in spite of a nationwide ouster by Zionist Jews).

Non-European-descended Jews (as I mentioned above in my article) face **BOTH** anti-Semitism *AND* racism from whites -- from both European/Euro-American Christians *AND* *EUROPEAN/EURO-AMERICAN JEWS* -- against people of color!! Non-European Jews -- as people of color -- get a *DOUBLE DOSE* of racism (some from 'their own people', so to speak). That's a *LOT* more than white Jews in America have to face.

Becky, if you really want Jewish-America to be true friends with Black-America (as opposed to just Jewish *individuals* who can be -- or often *are* -- true friends with authentic Black-Americans), first you have to start with honesty -- the most important ingredient in any true friendship.

AND THANKFULLY, I HAVE SOME *VERY* CHERISHED FRIENDSHIPS WITH SOME *VERY* EXTRAORDINARY JEWS -- INCLUDING FORMER ROOMMATES/HOUSEMATES, MALE AND FEMALE.

But, you know what most Blacks get for their honesty?: viciously attacked as "anti-Semitic" by the Jewish-American establishment, and by Jews like Gerald Gerash, and often even have their livelihood threatened or attacked. In other words, Jews exercise the very *same* WHITE-SUPREMACY THEY SHARE WITH WASP'S AND PRACTICE IN ISRAEL.

That's why Blacks, especially the Black Church, who often used to identify with Jews, Biblically, now identify with Palestinians: they see the same whites who are oppressing us here at home, and oppressed people of color (through colonialism/imperialism) all over the world, are now oppressing the Palestinians in their home. And, as I always say about Zionists Jews: you can *NOT* claim to be non-racist at home and yet be racist abroad (in Palestine).

THAT'S WHY THERE'S HARDLY EVER *ANY* BLACKS ATTENDING SO-CALLED JEWISH-BLACK ALLIANCE CONFERENCES/WORKSHOPS!

THAT'S WHY JEWS HAVE TO *PAY* MOST BLACKS EVEN TO COME TO THESE THINGS, AS WERE THE 4 0R 5 BLACKS WHO WERE PAID TO CO-MODERATE WORKSHOPS AT THE CONFERENCE!

THIS, BECAUSE JEWS ALWAYS, AS WHITES, HAVE THE OPTION OF EXERCISING THEIR WHITE SUPREMACY ANYTIME THEY DON'T LIKE WHAT THEY HEAR!
