Gee. Amending the constitution so an unpopular leader can continue to lead past his term? Can you imagine what the peace activists in Santa Cruz would do if Ariel Sharon sent some goons over to key members of the Knessett and leaned on them until they amended the constitution so he could serve past the end of his term? They would be marching in the streets, faxing their Congressmen, and sending international observers oversea to report on Sharon's hijacking of democracy.

Oh wait!! Arafat is in the 8th year of a five-year term. yet I haven't heard a WORD about it from other wise vocal Israel-bashers like Wendy Campbell, Alison Weir, Adam Shapiro, Stephen Zunes or locally George, Vinnie, Skidmark, Maureen Smith, and the RCNV.

Are these people/groups biased against Israel?
Or do they generally oppose occupations, wherever they be. The answer is obvious.
