Re: I am a mother . . . The power in the lone feminine voice raised in protest

Pointer is doing what many in the court system, the social services system, the legislature, the school system, the "general" public and others are doing - trying to make the single mother (or mother standing alone in defense of her children) the scapegoat for the failures of our society in dealing with the scourge of drug abuse. I am here to tell pointer and the rest that's not okay!! No matter how people like him point and rant, that does not relieve him or the others of the responsibility of treating the addict and his/her family as human beings entitled to the same respect as any other person.

The mothers of these victims of corrupted justice systems are in the position to see the violent and criminal behavior of those supposedly on the right side of the law, and are finding the courage to speak out, and there's nothing pointer, and the one like him, can do to stop it.

Family of these victims of the "War on Drugs" can see that the present system is not designed around stopping drug abuse, but benefitting monetarily from it. As they often say, "It's all about money." And from my observations, they are right.
