The contract expires midnight December third. I just came from the AFL-CIO Monterey Bay Central Labor Council meeting where we voted to sanction a strike. Representatives of the city government are now finally promising to have something good on the table tomorrow morning (Dec. 2). They also asked the union to delay any job actions. The union's position is to prepare to strike and also consider what the city government has to offer once it is on the table.
