Depleted Uranium is one of the worst environmental atrocities, and its use should be considered a war crime. Even the people looking to be saved from Armagedon aren't looking forward to a nuclear war (I don't think). To answer Bill Moyers with a protest march might require say a Dec 30, 2005 march on Pacific Ave titled "Rivers of Death", where all the various liquid toxins (contaminated water, oil, blood, tidal waves, etc) could be represented as we "celebrate" the death of the old year. Or would that make too many happy go lucky Santa Cruz folks depressed right before the big night? Dec 30, 2005 is a Friday. Or the march could go 1/2 hour or so before the Blake Smith event on Sat Dec 31, 2005 so we could take advantage of the free street closure and police coverage. There is no reason why Blake Smith should be granted a monopoly on parading on First Night.
