How amusing and very interesting! This is something that has been a regular part of my household for several years now, too.
I'm not sure if this is listed on his soaps, but, diluted, they make a good nontoxic aphid and insect deterrent sprayed on roses and other plants. I think the peppermint and eucalyptus would work the best. It also works well (diluted) as a mild wood soap.
