Cesar Chavez Day Celebration
Thursday, 31 March 2005
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Organizer:
Davenport Resource Center / Salud para la Gente
You're invited to attend this fantastic program in celebration of Cesar Chavez's birthday and legacy, to benefit the Farmworker Health programs of the Davenport Resource Service Center and Salud para la Gente.
Live music by Conjunto Aguilas Negras del Norte, a photo exhibit, raffle [Framed print of Chavez stamp], and discussion plus a film screening and mole tasting.
"Latinos Encontrando su Lugar en la Costa Norte" is a locally produced film documenting the border crossing experience of two north coast farm workers.
Mole tasting might be the best part: sample several different authentic family mole recipes and select your favorite!
Come learn more about the current status of campesino health, immigration, and farmwork in celebration of Chavez's legacy. Salud para la Gente will lead a presentation and discussion about the state of health in the fields of Santa Cruz county.
