The two henchmen or women in this case are Jean Marie Scott and Gail Heit. Gail Heit is the Chancellor's bad cop--she does dirty work the Chancellor doesn't want to be seen doing. (this was particularly for the lovely MZ Greenwood). She has been seen skulking about various labor actions taking photos and hiding behind cars "watching" the participants. Jean Marie Scott used to be the CAO of Porter College. After demonstrating to higherups that she could cut out lower level staff jobs like the big boys ( I think they call that "prioritizing budgets and consolidating job titles") she was rewarded with a promotion as Vice Chancellor of housing and residential services. Both these gals make big bucks saying nice things to your face (PR)and then being sure that the corporate interests of the University get met. Don't get sucked into thinking you will win a debate with these women or that they're good guys. They are getting over $125,000+ salaries because they do what the UC corporate interests dictate...from ensuring that lower level employees make poverty wages (while they make $$ for sitting on their asses all day in lawn chairs "watching students for illegal activities,etc.") to dismantling truly alernative voices at UCSC. The determination to arrest students came from the top and all of these women happily complied.
