This article certainly gives us food for thought. There probably* are some very bad things about Wal-Mart.
I would encourage people to survey wages, benefits, and working conditions along Pacific Avenue too. There probably are some small, locally-owned businesses that pay minimum wage, don't provide health insurance at all, and don't treat their employees well.
Unless we study the alternatives, we can't assert that Wal-Mart is the worst.
* I am being cautious because another commentator uncovered factual errors in reSista's post about military recruiting, and also because whole books are written about issues like union/non-union compensantion differentials, and reSista's article cites many point facts but doesn't explore issues in great depth.
