While you are shutting down the Minutemen, why don't you also petition the govt of Mexico to do away with the income requirements for getting a residency permit. Currently, you need to be making $1300 per month in order to stay there long term. I could have sold my house and spent a couple of years hanging out there trying to get an internet business running or something, but because of the income requirements, I can't do that. Can't just live off of savings...This also crimps my style come retirement time, as the current estimate of my retirement checks will be just at or slightly under that $1300 number. I estimate that with an apartment renting in Ajijic (the Americanized tourist/vacation/retirement town near Lake Chapalla) for $200 per month, one can live comfortably, including paying for health insurance, on $600-$800 per month.
