I dont think it would be great if you Santa Cruzans ruled the world. I live in Santa Cruz and I sure wouldn't want to live in world of a predominantely white, middle class, hippie, theory-but-no-action population...Santa Cruz, specially the UCSC population is so so disconnected from reality, i would not want to live in a place that claims to be progressive but in reality is mostly about image and style of life instead of active resistance. Things such as anti-racist organizing and anti-patriarchal organizing still need to be erradicated from Santa Cruz...where it seems like everyone wants to hug a tree, yet have not been able to hug a sister/brother.
The UCSC strike is very exciting to me as an individual, and it gives me hope to see the better face of santa cruz for once...
