Re: Recruiters Shut Down at UCSC, Rally Photos

Couldn't these college students think of a more professional, more productive way of conducting a protest, rather then writing on card board and making out in front of a booth. It's the information age, you can go down to Fedex/Kinko's and get a pretty nice sign made dirt cheap, and email your elected offical's about your disagreement's with policy. We soldiers are not poliy maker's. I work recruiting event's from time to time, I'm not out there recruiting for war, as the assumption goes, I'm basically giving people an idea of what's available, an alternate route to better themselves. Like I said in another post "assumption is the mother of all fuck ups". People assume they know what kind of people serve in the military, and our way of life, our beliefs and what we stand for. Talk to us and find out what we're really about, what we really stand for. A little about me, I'm 25, going on 7 years of service in the army, father of 3 great children, been married for 5 years. Why do I do what I do? I love this country, believe in what it stands for, I love the people of this country, even these protester's, and will defend there freedom's until my last breath, I want to contribute to making the world safe for my children as well as their's. To me, all these people live in a ignorant state of being, not knowing the true evils in the world, not knowing that there are people out there that want them enslaved or dead, I will not let that happen on my watch. I wish there was no need for war, or a military, but the fact of the matter is, there is a need, and in my opinion, everyone do there part. Are some of the policy's unfare, yes, are they needed, in a way, yes. I just got way off topic, I apoligize, this is a near and dear subject to my heart. I hope I explained my statement, if not I'll try again.
