Wouldn't it be nice to see card-carrying members of the NAACP, SCAN, ACLU, labor unions, student progressives and other liberals apply this words to the SCPD's racial profiling, the Downtown Association's attack on poor people and street performers, and the City Council's ongoing criminalization of poor people under the Sleeping Ban?

There were plenty of people who mouthed pieties but did nothing when King was alive and risking his life. Now that he's a dead icon, we see similar homilies, but no local action.
