And, just as Dr. Holzman seems to approach history and contemporary events in Palestine and elsewhere, so does your apology and assessment.

While you acknowledge the terror inflicted by "some" settlers: you totally ignore the daily terror inflicted by the IDF, upon the total Palestinian population. Every aspect of Palestinian life is affected by the abuses inflicted at checkpoints, bulldozings (which, I might add: when Dr. Holzman DID finally mention Rachael Corrie's death by bulldozing--she not only got the facts wrong (she said it was a tank), but rather than cast any blame upon the driver, she attempted a character assassination of Rachel).

Also, as our open letter mentions, Dr. Holzman completely ignores the costs of a bloated military upon the US infrastructure and world stability. It is one thing to make statements "in line with a philosohpy:" quite another to apologize for the behemoth of governmental funding: the military-industrial complex.
