Wendy is not really for peace

Wendy, You spit out the word "Zionism" like a curse. My understanding of Zionism is different than yours. To me, Zionism is the movement for the Jewish people to return to their ancient homeland and rebuild their nation. Zionism includes both secular and religious goals. Many think that Zionism is no longer a movement since it has already accomplished its goal.

I am not a Zionist. I do not belong to any Zionist organizations, and I am not Jewish either. I do support the right of the Jewish people to have a Jewish state in the mideast on roughly the borders of their ancient homeland.

As for the "indigenous" Palestinian people. Most immigrated since 1948 from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt (check out census reports). Even Arafat is Egyptian and not Palestinian. Of course there were Arabs living in Palestine prior to the LEGAL establishment of Israel in 1948 (so much for your rogue state appellation). About 300,000 Arabs stayed to help build the modern State of Israel and another 140,000 were repatriated later when they applied to the Israeli authorities, filled out applications, and provided proof of residency such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, and/or deeds to property. All have full citizenship rights and the freedom to practice whatever religion they choose.

As to indigenous Jews: there has been a continuous Jewish presence in what is now Israel for over 3000 years---far pre-dating any Muslim population's presence. The Jewish population had ebbed and flowed since the destruction of the 2nd Temple in 70 A.D. due to pogroms, massacres, and a string of brutal occupations by invading powers.

And Wendy, when are you going to answer my question about the $3 billion in US aid sent to Israel annually? This was a provision of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty brokered by the US in 1979. It included the following provisions: The US would provide $3 billion a year to Israel, $2 billion a year to Egypt and Israel would return the Sinai peninsula to Egypt. All nations signed the treaty and Israel returned the land representing 94% of the lands taken over in 1967.

Do you really support the abandonment by the US of its peace treaty that has resulted in 25 years of peace between Egypt and Israel?

I know you hate Israel and would do anything to destroy it, but do you support ripping up the peace treaty to do so?
