The SCPD budget is one-third of the city's general fund. ONE THIRD!! We have given police a carte blanche to go after the poor, the homeless, the people of color, and activists.

The new downtown ordinances are overly oppressive on their face, and when combined with the selective way they are enforced, they impact the quality of life for us all.

The police have basically been turned into a private security goon squad for the merchants!
Stacia, get a clue. We don't have a CPRB anymore--not coincidentally, this commission was axed right after it passed a motion condeming selective enforcement as a SCPD policy, but before they could present the resolution to the City Council.
