One would think that the rich would be the ones to buy the new technologies unreachable by the average American -- the hydrogen car, solar powered, or at least the new hybrid. Instead we see the rich buy Hummers, huge gas-guzzling SUV's or two-passenger cars with huge engines.
The solution to our energy problem is a hundred little solutions --- conservation, passive solar, better insulation, lcd screens, in stream generators, solar collectors, harnessing the ocean waves and the wind, geothermal, and businesses that generate power rather than consume it.
Our leaders are doing nothing which amounts to dereliction of duty.
Many thanks to Kurt Vonnegut who I once got to defend 32 years ago when his book "Slaughterhouse Five" was banned from my high school, Rochester Adams H.S. for being "anti-God".
