I agree with your statement and the platform statement on the Dems. Hardly a deal breaker wherever it shows up! I'd just move it away from the intro. In my opinion, ANY party that does not condemn capitalism is a
"capitalist party of war, oppression, and exploitation"
I guess I am uncertain of the need to provide the Democrats with any special mention when the Republican and Green parties remain true to capitalism as well.
OK, I think you misunderstood what I meant by platforms changing. I did not mean to convey that the Dem party platform will be significantly changing for the better at some point in our lifetime! I meant that the RP platform will change over time and that a section on the beliefs of other parties could be a platform plank that undergoes periodic review, whereas the introductory statement of values is less likely to undergo such changes.
My vote is to relegate any mention of other specific parties (to the exclusion of the other collaborating parties) to another section outside the intro. Let them remain what they have always been to working people...not too relevant.
Other comment on:
"The struggle new society that overturns the ownership of the means of production is what we understand to be the revolution."
Typo. Should say "The struggle FOR A new society..."
